ROCK-iT BARRE is the flagship product of Irresistible Music, Inc., a company dedicated to sharing music with the world. The ROCK-iT BARRE was invented by Laurie Hansen, who is not only an inventor, but is also a nurse midwife who has delivered thousands of babies, a mother to eight children and grandmother of 26 grandchildren, with a passion for music. For over 44 years she has been performing and playing guitar as a solo artist and in various bands and acoustic groups, most recently with her 5 daughters where they performed in the U.S. and China, known as the band "IrreSistible". She is "The Singing Grandma" to hundreds of elementary school children, where she volunteers her time to teach many classrooms of kids fun songs she remembers from her childhood.
In 2015 Laurie was forced to quit playing guitar because of progressive osteoarthritis in her hands. But Laurie was not to be defeated. She set to finding a solution.
15 molds and countless prototypes later, the ROCK-iT BARRE was born. Next came the patent. Since then, people across the country are experiencing the joy of learning or of re-learning the guitar. We are excited to keep inspiring people to play the guitar.
